Funny story, I had ultimate pedals (www.ultimatepedals.com) already put on from the prior owner. Reading Tom Kerr's posts, it was clear that the set up he uses would be of great help.... For me, toe-toe seems a lot better. Just my hip/way of doing things. Tom's pedal allows for that (rennline's too). I suppose it is theoretically less pure than using one's heel. Over time, we'll see.
I got a rennline gizmo and put it behind my ultimate pedal. I had to drill the rennline piece (alu is soft...5 minute job at most).
Works great, looks shall we say "hacked"....not clean like Tom's.
So I emailed ultimate pedals and asked if they could make me a single pedal to do the job based on a photo.
No problem...I'll report back later. But, if you want your own design, they'll do it for a 35$ set up fee. In the big picture, that seems pretty cheap. My biggest concern right now is learning heal/toe correctly for the zone 2 de....I doubt I'll be great (the torque of the car will allow me to look better than I should I suspect).
Anyway, I would listen to Tom's advice and not clip/snap one. Anything connecting you to the car is a safety issue. That is one area not worth being cheap about in my book.
I just think Tom got it right in his choice. Just me. I expect a new gas pedal any day now to be the same surface area as in my attached photo.
Good luck.

I like your car. All business. :-) Thanks for the kind words.
Here is an alternative from Sullivan Racing Products, the gas pedal was custom design at no extra cost, nice pedal, plenty of grip on the brake/clutch.

I have these too. Awesome, thicker (see their site). I designed mine custom...and they made mine perfectly. No extra cost. Highest quality material and parts....yada yada yada. See the guy's site. He advertises in the PCA magazine (and other places).
Fast turnaround too for custom work. My pedal was 2 days to my door from an email image.
Much nicer to heal/toe now.
