Paul - get a 996 GT2. My thoughts are that it will ALWAYS retain its value better as compared to a 997TT. There is only a limited number of GT2's in existance and they are very sought after. The 997TT will eventually go the way of the 996TT whereby you can find one now for $45k at auction. Go for the GT2...

Gt2

I was always tweaking my TT to improve it to be more GT2-like and finally gave up after spending big $ as it couldn't quite get there. If you can be happy with the less visceral but great all weather interceptor feel of the turbo, go with it. I wanted something with the primal feel of the GT3 with torque. Not easy to find outside of the GT2. The 2 is a much more rewarding experience from my perspective.
