Chirping crickett sound

Last night I took the car out for a hard drive around town for about a half hour. This morning on the way to get my coffee on, I noticed a chirping sound from the back of the car. It is only heard with the windows down. It happens when the clutch just starts to engage. I think I hear it when its in gear, but I can't be sure because of the engine and road noise. Any ideas?

BTW I searched 6speed and Rennlist and didn't find anything.

Chirpes? Try some Valtrex in the fuel, sorry, caught me funny.

Seriously, is it engine speed related? Or may clutch actuation linkage?

It almost seems its just engine load related, I don't know that it increases with engine speed because I can't hear it under load.

BTW, I'm not about to start paying for two Valtrex prescriptions Keith!!!

Beecher is infamous around these parts
Porsche mounts their speakers with the screws threaded into hard plastic. These can really make some strange intermittent noises. I looked for weeks trying to find the cricket sound in the back of my car. I put my wife back there and started driving. She was able to shut it up my pressing on the speaker grille. I removed the screws and greased them with silicone grease. End of noise!

I have had exhaust leaks sound like hissy chirps. Small opening between a mating surface that the exhaust is forced out of and makes a whistle sound. Since is is a chirp, it must be before the collecter. My guess is a exhaust port nut has loosened etc.

PS:Come to think about it, I have also had loose sparkplugs that cause a chirp sound.

No idea... I just hope it goes away when I put in my UMW clutch package. Sorry I don't have anything better. I'll update the thread if I find those nasty little bastards.
