Saw 1.2 bar today... what's the problem?

The '03 X50 I have is completely stock except the shifter. Last week I saw .9 bar and paid little attention to it as it was a cool morning. Today, I took the car across town to an appt. and romped it onto the express way, looked down and saw 1.2 on the guage. Is this a problem? Diverter valves? Wastegate?

Do you have mods? Have you done anything lately to the car?

I only have stg 2 and usually mine boosts to 1.0 Bar, but on a lot of occassions I will see 1.1

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

X50 should be k24s - I hit 1.2 on a really cold day. Would kill for 1.3 but that's a seperate issue.

Shouldn't be a problem

If he is stock he shouldn't be seeing that kind of boost.

Not trying to start anything, but 530 fwhp from k16's is a little over confident; especially the + plus part. The max I think you can get from a modded k16 is 480 to 490 fwhp at best, just MHO from what I've seen.

Are you sure your engine has not been chipped? 1.2 sounds like mods or an aberration. Are you the original Owner? Cooler weather definitely will produce more boost. PM Kevin at Ultimate Motorwerks, he'll be able to tell you.

LOL, no worries. The 530 I was referring to is just an estimate and its at the crank.

I have a very similar car (SSK only) and always see 0.8-0.9 and never see above 0.9 bar. Although an occassional 1.2 won't hurt the engine, heck there are some people that run it constantly; it isn't normal for a stock X50 engine. If it only happened once it could have just been an abhorrent spike and I would watch it but not worry too much.

My numbers of 480 to 490 FWHP (Flywheel Horsepower) are at the crank, but if you're happy with your estimate, that's all that matters.
