Turbo Shootout
Chad,
I hope this 'shootout' comes to pass, sounds like alot of fun for you TT guys!
I hope spectators are allowed, and that the event is held somewhere here in California.
Please keep us informed of any details that you come across.

I hope it comes to pass also. It is being handled by a professional event promoter. My understanding is it will be open to spectators for the cost of a ticket. They are also planning part of one day where the spectators can look at these cars up close alone with a photo session for the press.
As for location, that has not been determined yet. Actually, I believe the questioneer that will be sent to those interested in participating will mode some things as the planning moves along.
Chad, count me in. Please keep us up on the details.

Todd and Stephen,
I just forwarded both of your names and company addresses to the promoter.
I also appraised them of the request to avoid the dates of July 4-10 due to the Porsche Parade.

Chad, if they plan on doing it in the Northern California, I wonder if we can possibly time it around our August 9th Thunderhill Porsche Only track day. I couldn't think of a better venue as we will hopefully have 50-70 P cars attending. And with this event we could even have a bigger audience? So our track day is on Monday and maybe they can do the shootout on Sunday or Tuesday?
What do you think?

May I suggest Chicago, that is a much better choice for obvious reasons

Chad I sent you an email. If it is open to all TTs as you say, then a 993TT should work. I think this would be an interesting comparison..... An almost bone stock 993TT against all of the stage 4 etc 996TTs. What do you think Sharky? Think my old car is capable?

? Now you wanna pick on the 996TTs... It'd be cool to see how it compares to the 996s!
The questioneer should be going out by the end of this week. The response has been overwhelming. I understand and this is not final, the restrictions that are being considered are the car must make minimum of 600 hp, displacement can be no greater than 3.6 liters and no internal modifications.
Ryan,
You really need to enter your GT2 before it is too late.
