Sorry to hear you are missing the season, great weather now indeed.
I see many UAE/Kuwait etc modified cars on this forum, does this mean we will be all competing at Speed Trip in Bahrain this year?

UAE996tt sounds like you'll have a quick car on your hands when its all said and done...
Jean what exactly is Speed Trip? I also missed the event last weekend was out of the country, but made the one in Nov.... also on another note for the UAE guys, any recomendations on where to go for turbo install/upgrade, i'm pretty close to going with Dan's 650 kit, just need to find a competent shop to install, HOC seems like they only know FVD....

Speedtrip is an event held at the FIA F1 track in Bahrain once a year that gathers a bunch of motorheads from across the GCC and Middle East region and compete in a three event championship, Autocross, drag race, and track sprint with the track race having the highest coefficient.
95% are street legal cars and some are 996-997 Cup cars and other Caterhams etc.. You see the likes of Alois RUF there, and guys like HP Lieb and Balboni (the Lambo test driver) competing.
There are usually around 50-70 competitors and you will see some wild cars out there, the interesting part is that they need to be well setup for the three events or no chance to win.
Here are some pictures from a forum I just googled.

As far as your mods, I would only go to the dealership, and have a word with the German chief tech, Adrian, two months ago I would have never said that, but he has done a great job on my car, and it has nothing stock. HOC is a waste of time. Let me know if you need me to help.
UAE996TT,
I have seen the car and heard a lot about Kanoo's Porsche TT, but everytime a lot of hype without ever participating in this event, to my frustration. I also heard that he sold it a few months back, but it could be speculation.. Never seen any proven numbers of its performance at the end.
Let's get together! I will be at the autodrome for the next three days. Cheers

You haven't experienced a track day unless you have been lapped by the Gosaibi Brothers in the RGT and Z06.
This sounds like a lot of fun, there is nice weather now! You should come to Dubai to some our track days...February 1st..
Fawaz is REALLY good.. but I beat his time during Speed trip in my 993 when we were both competing.. So far the only street legal car (that I know of) with faster lap times than mine has been HP Lieb (Father of Marc) with his RUF factory RT12 last year, but he was not in the competition.

February 1st is a tight week, SpeedTest in Oman and OpenTrack in Bahrain (with Porsche Club). We are planning a trip down to Dubai sometime in March/April, when BIC gets busy with F1. Although, the run off space in Dubai isn't as forgiving as Bahrain.
Will convince the driver of the yellow beast to bring it along:
