996 TT as only car?

When I am in stop and go traffic for a long amount of time I usually wish I was in my Audi A6 with an auto trans, and more comfortable seats. When there is little or no traffic and I am in my Audi I wish I would have taken the Porsche. If traffic is not an issue for you and since you live close to work then go for it. If I could only have one car then I would have the Porsche.

Yeah, ahhhh........good luck with that Martin.....one thing Ive learned over the years.....Car guys like YOU and me and so many on here......you never stop modding or upgrading or tinkering etc......you can try ........ but you'll most likely fail.......

I have to be honest, in previous years I never even thought of driving such a car daily due to losing its specialness and overall daily abuse on the car. This has kept me back once modifying the he'll out of my cars to enjoying them day in and day out to their fullest potential, not to mention worrying about miles resale and so on!
Now whatever I get next I do not care one bit and will calm it down with the modifying and just drive the he'll out of the car every day without a worry, its only a car, do it!

It all depends on what you use your car for. If I just needed to drive to and from work I would go for it,
I drive around a lot, take my clients out for lunches, ect. I jump in my car 4-5 times a day and dont worry about it. If I had the porsche it would drive me crazy worring about where to park, cool down times, and trying to talk on the phone over the obnoxious exhuast. not to mention I live in the city and the roads are ho-rendus.

dammit, you and the whole 6speed crew know me oh too well!!!! 
Well I can try and say I will at least right? I mean then I wont feel WAY too guilty when I go against what I say, blah, as you know its a sickness and I can't leave a car alone, past 4 cars LOL!!!OK, but how about this promise, whatever car I get next and no matter at what extent I modify it at, I WILL drive the hell out of it and not care about mileage or resale!

I bought my 02 X50 last year with the fullest intentions of driving it everyday. I live in the Northeast, so I was also going to get winter wheels/tires for it too. But no matter how well I plan to take care of my turbo, it will be abused from the road debris, mileage, dings, etc.. Granted I think the car is built like a tank. but I decided to get a "beater" for daily driving and use for any jobs/tasks I need to do:Home depot! Now I drive my Turbo maybe 3 times a week. And I look forward to it!
