Having rode in your car. I can definetly say its not the clutch. The tires broke loose (after wheel hop) in every gear 1st,2nd,3rd,4th between 4-5k. Even going downhill. That car is scary fast. I would think more meat on the rears wheels and some suspension mods (softer)should help you out. When you get that car to hook up, there will be very few cars that will be able to keep up with you.

sounds pretty freakin crazy, can i go for a ride.... are you running NOS or something. that sounds ridiculous. i noticed alot of wheel hop on the JIC suspension but not to the degree that your are describing. don't think a 315 tire is going to make a big difference.

While I don't doubt that Luting's car is making mad power, to break traction in 4th gear and higher would simply take tremendous gobs of torque. I'd love to see a dyno chart of your setup.

=_=" damn...
i just bought the stage 3 clutch from Todd @ Evo...

I guess I'll just keep it with me for later use... after my clutch is burned out...

if my rpm...around 4th gear...and it rises up to 4500 and drop down to 4000 again...and keep acting like it for a second or two...
is that normal?

tire? or clutch???? b/c my tech told me that i might burned my clutch...

i'll have a guy from Weissach to go for a ride with me first...
then they'll be able to tell me what's going on i guess @_@

one last possibility, two much camber in the suspension with too much air pressure on your setup. not enough surface contact.

i guess i was wrong with tire...it's probably really the clutch you guys are talking about...
b/c i know that around 4-5k rpm... the rpm stays at 4 to 5k for about 2 seconds... and the car is actually not really accelerating at all...
it happens when i shift from 5 to 4...or 4 to 3...and when i reach around 4.5-5 the rpm stayed...and after a few seconds then it start moving again and pull hard...
when i shifted down...and when it start to accelerate at 3krpm...it was still fine...but once it reach around 4-5 it's not pulling anymore...as i stated above...

sorry if i have got the thing wrong...b/c i didn't really know that clutch would slip

how can i fix this problem???????
I am no expert, but it seems that if your right foot is all the way into it and the tires were spinning the tach would not stay flat but would rapidly increase? Or is this where the computer takes over and says "hey, the tires are spinning, I better slow you down"?

and...yes =_=" Doug u're right...
my foot is always all the way down to the floor when this happens...
and the tach stays for about a second (seems like tire spins to me) then when the speed slowly accelerates and catch up...it finally let go and speeds up much faster....

Joe:
for sure... ^___^ i believe he got a ride with Dan @ speed gallery...b/c i left my car there for about a month... and they took some customers out for a spin... of course sometimes with authorization when i'm there ^____^

Clutch symptoms

It sure sounds like a clutch to me sir. If you see rising and falling revs while in gear that is the first place I'd look anyway. You should be able to smell burnt clutch and it should be hard to spin you wheels with a slipping clutch. Also you should be able to hear the "chirp" or similar sound as your wheels start to spin in the lower gears. But a slipping clutch will just let the rev's soar until the clutch does finally engage.

The only thought I would have is the differential viscous coupling might be slipping? But I do not have any experience with that it would be a flat guess if you don't have the slipping clutch.

Seems like the car would get a little sideways if the tires were spinning.

Now you'll HAVE to show us the monster torque curve...

I am running the 750 package and am not spinning the tires in third. Put some BF Goodrich Drag TAs on it and it see how it does. I also am pulling four car lenghts on my buddies M3 by 100(at the race track of course)
