Anyone have any negative feedback about the PS2s. I just ordered a set, but have time to change if there is a better tire or experiences with PS2s have been bad.

They are not 'N' rated in TT size.

Does that matter.

I prefer Corsas by a wide margin. Michelin is all about marketing. The new Dunlop is great too, but it isn't out yet. The cups take too long to heat for street.

Have you driven a car with the PS2s.

I have had Assymetrico, Rossos, S03, Dunlop 9000s, Contis, PS and now PS2s on my various cars. The Pilot Sports on my 90 Ruf have to be my favorite as far as grip, smooth at high speeds, and low noise. The Pirellis were nice, but not quiet the grip of either the MPS or S03s and they were a little noisy.

I had Dunlop on Audi products and I went to S03s on the same cars and prefered the S03s, but this was a while back. The Contis to me are the worst tire I have experienced on a new Porsche.

I am looking for street tires not track tires. Has anyone used the PS2s and decided they did not like them.

Inner structure and load capacities differ with "N" rated tires. They are also engineered specifically for the Porsche car it's fitted to. To me that sounds worthy.

Call tirerack and get the scoop. I'm sure you'll be happy with something they recommend.

I like the PS2s. Held up well with 3 track days on the tires. Put about 1500 miles on them over the last 3 days. Going to the track again on Friday.

I have 235/295s.

N rated PS2s are available in 235/315

Tire rack recommended them. I once heard that the Ns were pretty meaningless except that you did not want to mix Ns and have like N1s and N2s on the same car.

If your heart is set on PS2's you have 2 choices.
1) 235/40/18 front 295/30/18 rear. The fronts will be taller by about 1/2 inch. It may not be a good thing for the Turbo set-up.
2) 235/40/18 front 315/30/18 rear. Very similar diameters but wider than stock.

I chose the following with positve results so far (150 miles).
Michelin Pilot Sport "RIB" Porsche "N" rated tires. 225/40/18 front 295/30/18 rear. Much quieter than Pirelli PZeros and more comfortable. Too early to test hard cornering grip until I put more miles on them!

Any ideas why the 235 is N rated as opposed to the 225 on the PS2s.

I ordered the 225/40s and 295/35s in the PS2s. I think the hieghts are very close here. I am going to check out the Ribs.

Simple answer. Porsche does not use the 225/40/18 front tire size for any of their cars presently. A member here knows a Michelin person, and was told that they weren't making a 225/40/18 PS2 because Porsche doesn't use it. It looks like the 997 cars will be using a Bridgestone tire so no hope there either

PS. the 225/40/18 SP2's are OEM for the Chrysler Crossfire and some other car I forget.

Yes the heights (diameters)(assuming you meant 295/30/18 rears) are very similar in that case, but the fronts aren't "N" rated. Check out the Ribs, they're used on current 996TT's and C4S's!

These are the sizes listed by Tire Rack for 2003 Turbo. I had to place the order by phone on my way to deposition this morning. I unfortunately relied solely on what I was being told as I had nothing in front of me.

Anyway, 225/40s and 295/30s will be here tomorrow before noon. I will have my dealer call to see if they should go back.
