The level of driver ability and concentartion to get the max out of the GT2 is way higher than the TT.

On the track my modded TT hangs right with the modded GT2's and if the weather is less than ideal I'm faster. Got to love the AWD. For me the GT2 would be cool to have but as Buddyg says mod the TT and smoke them all. Besides your car sounds like it is well sorted out and set up very nicely for what you wnat to do.

So no matter what you decide you are in a good position

One more thought the new GT3 Cup is only $156,000 and that is a full track car.
ya...but the 30k engine rebuilds and the 19k or so tranny builds every 60 hours isnt included...haha

Good point, if you live where it rains, and the car is a daily driver, the GT2 or GT3 may not be your best choice. The GT3 Cup is not nearly as fast off the line as the GT3, GT3 RS, GT2 or TT (The Cup is a 0-60 4.7 car). On the other hand, since it only weights in at 2500 lbs, the 300-ft-dia skidpad performance is 1.16g and the potential to have faster sprint times are great.

Therefore, since I live in a place that has no rain, I am a big GT2 fan and am looking forward to getting my hands on a 997 GT2, but not for $250,000. At that price, I will just mod my 996TTS.

With a great platform to start with like your 996TT, yes its silly money. If you sell your car, you get say $65k. The price of a 997 GT2 lets say $180k.

For the $115k price difference, you can spend $15k in upgrades PLUS buy a Ferrari 360 to snag some biotches with

My friend pickes his up in June. I will then get a chance to compare that car and we will see how fast it really is. It should take him a good 3 months to learn to drive and launch.

Do not forget that the 997TT and 997GT2 have Compression Ratio of 9.0:1 (996TT 9.4:1) and 1.4 bar is not like in our 996TT.

Sure the 997GT2 is an amazing car but $240-250.000 for it, I would keep my TT and get a RED 360 Spider or 997TT CAB w/mods or a Murci or a Green Full Moded GT3RS (like Fred's) or why not a 360CS.

I'm not trying to be cocky. But comparing the the prices between the 997tt and the GT2 and saying just mod the 997tt to make it faster than the GT2, is kinda like saying buy a the new Skyline GT-R and save money.

I look at it like this.
I would not compare the 997 GT2 to the 997tt. Instead I would compare the 997 GT2 with say a Ferrari 430 and say to myself I am saving money by not buying the Ferrari. Get the GT2, if you can.

I can only tell you that I had the new GT2 on order and decided to forego the new car to undertake my current project. The real question is, what will you do when they come out with the next bag of tricks. Until there is a substantial change in engineering that we cannot duplicate with modded cars, then buying the new GT2 makes no sense to me.

Well, then we all could buy a 1970´s porsche turbo and mod it because nothing really has changed...

A 430 is no where in the same league as a new GT2, unless you are talking about the Scuderia.

The new car will be phenomenal, hands down.

You are so lucky because you can buy a GT2 180,000$ but ın Turkey GT2 price is 610,000$.
