RE: Big Decision

Sorry to post to new thread....I am unable to reply. Long technical issue story.

First of all...THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THE INPUT FROM EVERYONE WHO REPLIED.

Anyways, The decision was kinda made for me. The '03 black car was sold out from under me. I am going with the '04 red. Final answer!

I have a problem with used cars in general so I guess it was a blessing in disguise. The 10k savings was tempting, but my '02 TT that I recently sold was black and I was ready for a color change. I ordered this car in late September of '03 and it hit the Jax port yesterday. I could have the car this weekend.

I battled over the resale potential based on the color. I know that silver and black rule, but I think the red (especially with the turbo aerokit and Techno wheels) will give the car a lot more presence and a lot more "wow" factor. I have owned some real attention getters previously and I admit that I had always wished for more of that with the 911 Turbo. My '04 E55 is "quiet" enough for 2 cars. I want my sports car to turn a few heads.

The chip is a given. Which ECU upgrade is another area where I need advice. Which is best and why? I read the last poll and GIAC seemed to get the nod. No mention of Powerchip. Any reason?

Sorry so long...again thanks to all.

JK,

First off, congrats on the Guards Red Turbo! With the aerokit and techno wheels, your car will def. do more than just "turn heads!"

Regarding the ECU chip, Upsolute and GIAC seem to be the most common. Do a search and you will find a lot of feedback and advice concerning this issue.

However, it seems that the ECU for '04 Turbos are a little different than the other years and thus, Upsolute does not offer a chip for the '04 Turbos yet.

Your best bet seems to be GIAC as many people have had great results from it.

Good luck and hope this helps!
