Suspension setting held needed
Suspension setting held needed
I have H&R and stock wheels. The front seems to sit just a touch higher than rear, but I am scrubbing. Should I bump up the rear as opposed to dropping the front further.
If I change the height settings do I need to change camber or toe and what height setting should I use.
My dealer does not do alignments and I was somewhat concerned that the alignment shop may not have alot of expertise in setting up 996 TTs.
For street use, just in case the shop is clueless:
(1) what height should I use for front and rear;
(2) what toe settings;
(3) what camber settings; and
(4) anyother settings that I am not aware of.
I am really clueless about suspension settings.

I'll assume scrubbing means understeer. This is not a function
of ride height. Whenever you change your ride height, or change
suspension components, you *need* to get your alignment reset
to what Porsche recommends, or to a spec that you specifically
know you want.
You should definitely get your alignment checked and
set to stock, and then see how the car drives. Then if you have
a problem, we'll at least know the setup.
Understeer can come from many things, depending on the
circumstances.

Scrubbing, I mean I hit the front lip pretty easily when pulling into driveways.
The alignment is fine now and everything is smooth. I was just going to have it redone since I am putting new tires on the car. The old tires showed absolutely no signs of uneven wear.
My main question is probably do I still use the same camber, toe and whatever settings even if I decide to raise the tail a bit or go to the X73 ride height. Do you use different camber or toe settings when you use different ride heights?

Oh, I see.... No, you don't need/want different alignment
specs for different ride heights. The only reason they
would change is to try to compensate for a problem that
was caused by the change in the suspension geometry,
which you would not want anyway. As long as the ride height
is within the realm of Porsche standards you should be OK.
