East Coast Trackers...vir Mar 08 Pca Zone 2 Event!!!
VIR is such a special track...the average speed is HUGE and the amount of creativity alloted to you about creating your "line" is amazingly cool!
In my STOCK turbo powerwise (other than exhaust and intake), I hit 170 EASY, 180-185 pushing (thats a big difference for those that arent aware)

It goes
green (beginner, mandated instruction), blue (novice, mandated instruction, white (intermediate , solo), black (advanced solo), red (instructory only).
To all who are not familiar
The pca in this area is quite strict about their groups and running in black and up are similar to race speeds(well...kinda anyway) and are quite serious (which means they are BIG fun). White is great if you have good car control skills, have some solo exp, and want a taste of fast lapping. Blue is good if you are a newb (less than 3 or so events) as there are some quick students there and odds are your instructor lets you solo. Green..well...sucks...its slow but you gotta start somewhere.
Tom, you can either sign up for black group, and just enjoy all your time at the event to socialize and talk track, or obv you can instruct in red where you will obv have a student. USUALLY, a red driver can go in black and many instructors from other regions just go black as its pretty much as fast as red (sometimes faster depending on the cars that show). The choice is really yours!

I want to really enjoy this event with you guys. I would prefer to sign up in Black and not instruct. We could all run together in Black and use the rest of the time to trash talk!!!
sign for black, and well be menaces to society...other than the 997 cups and 996rs and rsrs that often are found practicing for other events...haha
I plan to be there.

It's the 14-16th... Friday - Sunday. I'll need someone to give me a check-off ride for white rungroup... and then I'll be set... Was there with Zone2 last September and had a ball!

just remember, some who havent run are going to need to get started on the trying to get into black, as they are VERY VERY picky about who runs where at these events...If you havent run with the PCA before, and dont have more than a couple years of exp or a race license, white is about all you can get away with...that said, obv, if you are in that group, and you are truly faster than all those in your group and show all the safe signs (safety is more important to them than time), just get a check off in white!
some of my "correspondence" so far.........

I dont really care what group as much as being on the track together would really be a photo op!!!
having someone behind all of us with a chase cam would be a 6speed classic!! and really show some of the others what they are really missing.

Tom, as he IS a certified instructor should still be able to ride with you...
Is there any way to start in black on day one and move up day two, if this event is going to be so big, I just want to be able to take turns at speed when I'm ready instead of sitting in traffic all day, that's my only concern.
