Request Seal Gray with black rims, and *******!

Requesting pictures of *******, and black wheels both shiny(?) and matte on seal gray. I am thinking about painting my turbo twists wheels black. I have recently seen threads with matte black HRE's and shiny black turbo twists wheels.

Probably going to just paint them thru one of the wheel refinishers in town, but might powder coat if the price is right.

Thanks, and lets see those ******* too.

Haha.

Sorry if I was confusing.

Looking for pictures of black wheels on a seal gray turbo. I am between painting my turbo twists matte black or shiny black.

I just reread the original post, and hope that I don't come of that retarded on a regular basis:P!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Ryan

paint and hre

I just finished the research on this topic....

HRE from the factory does a "satin" finish and not a matte or flat finish in black. Many people will confuse the different finishes on the HRE.

If you plan to change the color of your wheels, you need to have it powder coated, which means having a professional take the entire wheel apart, paint, bake, and assemble....many of the highend HRE wheels are 3 separate pieces. If your still under HRE warranty, you should have HRE do the work....

My HRE setup was NOT under warranty, and I went with a outfit called Wheel Techniques in San Jose. Due to aggressive curb surfing, wheeling, and overall abuse, I have used these guys many times.....

www.wheeltechniques.com

I had the wheels torn down and painted satin black, and left the fastener in the chrome finish. I also had them shoot the center cap all black. They have a show room with all color options, flat, satin, and gloss....I went satin for fit and finish purpose, as the flat is a bit tougher to clean and I wanted them to look like stock HRE setup. They charged me $175 wheel, and turned them around in 3 days......I also had them paint the barrel of the brake rotor black opposed to the Porsche grey which always rusts. They look great...

Anyway, call them and ask for Paul....

Ryan, I have a set of 996TT solid spoke wheels for sale in the classifieds ($$ lowered to $550). They would be great track wheels or candidates for black painting/ reconditioning if you want to save your present wheels.
