Would AVIC D3 fit my 03 turbo?

I wanted to replace the stock unit with a double din look unit, saw the avic D3 in best buy and did my search at 6 speed. Some commented it does not fit on Bose system, but some managed to make it work. So, what is the deal?

I am using the AVIC-D3 in mine. I replaced the entire system, though. Amps, speakers and head unit. I don't believe it will work with the factory amp. So if you replace the factory amp with an aftermarket amp, you might as well do the speakers, too. Then I know it works. You will need a separate cable for I-Pod and there is a separate bluetooth unit also.

I have the AVIC D3 in my 03tt. I replaced the amp but not the speakers and it works great. I am however going to upgrade the sub to some larger 8" drivers. If you send me your email address, I'll send you some pics of the unit installed.

Have fun.

I also have the D3. Great unit. I have an amp mounted in the trunk and two 10" subs hidden behind the rear seats. Factory speakers are decent quality if you choose to keep them.

I have the avic d3 and its a great system. But if you have extra cash i would go for the pioneer avic z2 because with the d3 it does not have hard drive so you have to keep the nav cd in it at all time so you cant listen to cd's and if you want to llisten to cds you will have take the nav cd out to listen to cd's. but it would not matter if you get an ipod connection because then you wont need to take out the nav cd. ebay has some good prices http://electronics.search.ebay.com/a...inZtQQsbrsrtZd
