White GT2.....Somebody buy it!!!
LOL, Peter.
The issue with this car is that it needs to be bought for considerably less than market since resale on a grey market car is not automatic. As expected, the seller doesn't see it this way. Most banks won't finance a grey market car either, removing a good chunk of buyers. On top of potential registration issues. I personally could care less about a ROW car, but with the high end used car market, everything has to be right to resell quickly. If I could figure out how to hang on to a car longer than a year, I'd be fine!

Actually, one thing to be aware of is for Canadian buyers - it is my understanding that we Canucks can NOT import a grey market vehicle from the U.S. into Canada - we would have to presumably have it sent back to Germany, then import it from there.
So are all euro delivery cars considered grey market??? Because according to his description it sounds like he just did the euro delivery option then brought it over? would this change the vin number?
The VIN on this car is ROW. We have repeatedly asked for the original window sticker, but the seller unfortunately can't product it. It's a shame, because it looks like a nice base car.
No, Porsche doesn't do euro delivery on limited production cars. I tried on a RS and GT2 earlier this year.

Rest of World, which I believe describes all cars manufactured by Porsche except ones bound for the US. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
thanks
Looks like a nice car.
I have purchased owned and imported gray market cars.
As long as the DOT and EPA conversion is done correctly you the buyer should be confident in getting a good car.
Unlike the 80's, cars today are usually the same spec whether they are european or US spec'd cars.
For Ex: In the 80's a 930 USA spec and 930 Euro spec were 2 different cars. The euro car being much more desirable due to increased performance less weight and less emissions gizmo's robbing power from the car. The alimighty dollar was strong then and you could by a 'used" 930 with 1000 kilometers for 10-15 and sometimes as much as 20k less than a US 930. It made a lot of sense for a lot of people.
Unfortunetly there were a ton of shady DOT conversion shops out there and once the feds caught up with what was going around 1986-87 they slammed the door shut on importing cars. Only a few shops remain in the country that are authorized to do these "gray market" conversions today.
This looks like a pretty clean car. But as with anything else. Have it checked out.

Tell us more....the bid says 100K...did you get it for that? If so, good deal assuming the car does not have problems. My main concern is that the car has less than 2K miles over a nearly 7 year period.
