Softronic Nabs its 1st AZ Victim!
2. What assurance is there that the "quirk" that affected and inflated the morning stock pull didn't affect and inflate the post-flash pull?
I can post up the other one we just didn't use it as the torque was so low due to the diverter valves leaking boost we used something a bit more relevant.

My two cents:
I've owned/invested in many businesses and always seem to look at everything in terms of "return on investment" For a total of $4,395.00 + 2hrs labor invested (exhaust, tune & DV's) I believe I got a great HP/trq return! Sure I could of spent another $10,000 to $15,000 and got what....an extra 40 to 60 horse power ???(can you say diminishing return)
I am very happy that there are tuners who try to bring the prices down for us so we don't have to spend the big bucks to get the big smiles.
Thanks again Dan

The first pull was not a fluke by any means. It was low on torque is all and an earlier dyno run made more sense as physical conditions were close to the same ie: Temp, Humidity etc......

Your tuner does.
How can you seriously say that .....you just dimed out every other tuner on this board by telling everyone that we are foolishly overpaying. Are you saying you overpaid at Proto?
Time will tell with Vivid, they offer a nice product, but their kits still have yet to be proven.IMO they have alot of catching up to do with the other tuners on this board(UMW,EVO,PROTO,)before they go taking shots at other tuners by saying "our DEAD STRAIGHT honesty instead of our competition which runs cars in 2wd, or on race gas, or on higher reading dyno's to show you that you got a number which in the real world is not true." That type of blanket statement is a strong one for a company that hasn't shown any "real world" performance numbers.
I would rather not name every guy who thought they were gonna do it cheap the first time to only have to do it over a second or in some cases a third time.I am not saying that this will be the case with Vivid. There is a lot of responsibility when tuning one of these motors because as we all know they aren't cheap or easy to rebuild .Remember it is always easier to do something AFTER you have seen someone else do it.If Vivid can do it cheaper and have the same performance and reliability ......then hats off to them .I look forward to seeing the results.

Yup, victim of the "modding and porsche addiction". That's me. Dan, thanks for your follow up call on Monday morn. I have an unexpected big closing that just came up that might position me for some power. I will keep U posted on when I fly out to talk more. Good gains!
Just came across this post this morning and have to chime in....I'm the "victim" that got that tune yesterday at Vivid. So far (just drove home) I'm very happy with the results, its hard to believe the difference! I'll post more on my thoughts as I get more seat time. As far as being the first AZ victim of Vivids, well it included:
Chris
- a bunch of very nice guys in the shop that didn't mind me hanging around asking questions all day
- no charge for dyno time
- Mitch taking his time with me...checking air/fuel, boost, etc
- finding out I was losing boost and Dan offering me a set of DV's at no charge

Vivid is using Softronic and I would not consider their software cheap or inferior.
Now that I know what I know and I'm more educated and just sit back and laugh...
best,
mark
