Want to can my stereo and speakers

Ok, I love my ride and the sound of the pavement and exhaust when I drive my beast, and I never use my stereo at all.

Question you think it's a good idea to remove complete stereo system speakers, cd player, everything?

I am not planning on selling it for a very long time and could care if value drops. Do they have a face plate to cover the old stereo location? I plan on leaving the speaker grills on it though.

Thanks for you opinions and thoughts! Merry Xmas to all by the way! I freakin bored, maybe I'll do it now!

just taking a guess, but i think headunit, cd changer, all speakers, amp, might weigh tops 50lbs. if you remove everythign with wires. If your goal is reducing alot of weight from the car for speed/track purposes then do it. if you dont care for that i think its somewhat of a hassel. regarding the cover, all you would need is a din cover from abs plastic. wouldnt be too hard to find or just custom make it.
