The first time I took my 1.5 year old son in my car, I'm on the hwy and a modded 350Z came up and started revving. I looked back at my son and thought this might scare him too much, but I thought to myself, what the hell. So we gunned it, I left the Z a few buslengths behind, and shut it down. The whole time my boy is giggling with delight. I think I might have him hooked.

I'm under the car a week or so ago; rear bumper off, car on jack stands, exhaust out, passenger seat out (wiring some electronics under there), tools strewn randomly.

My 10 year old daughter gets home from school with backpack on walks into the house through the garage, as she's walking past she says "and you're afraid of ME touching your car!"

My kids have loved every one of my Porsches, but especially the 911 variants because of the back seats (they liked the boxsters as well, but they always fought over who would "go with dad")

Here is a pic of my two older ones in the tt's predecessor ("Sally"). That rear engine drone on the freeway puts 'em out everytime!

I love the look on people's faces as we see them on the road with my car loaded up with little ones and Hannah Montana blaring out the open windows and sunroof!

I dont have kids but here is a story from when i was kid......

So my Grandfather had a Buick/Olds/GMC dealer since the 50s...and it was my family business all the way. My Dad and his 3 brothers worked there since they could walk. So one day, when my uncle was running the show the new GMC Cyclone came out....i think it was 1991 or something. So he loans it to my Dad for the night to "check out the AWD and the turbo" (both new things at that time - esp for GMC!)

So i am like 9 years old and alseep in my bunk beds.....my Dad comes in my room at what seems like 2am (was like 11pm) and wakes me...."put your shoes on Jon, were going for a ride".....AWESOME!

I get in and we head to the highway right near our house. nobody is on the road. He drives a little and then stops. completely stops on the highway. Tells me to hold on and GUNS IT!.....0-100+ in that car....at 9 years old felt like a fighter jet!.....we were both yelling YOOO HOOOO at the top of our lungs. Then he shuts her down and we cruise home.

Right before we get to the driveway he says "dont tell your Mom what we just did"

I have been completely hooked on cars since that night.

Footnote: My Uncle still owns that truck and i drove it to our local cars and coffee this past summer!!

Came back home with my 996TT and my excited 8year old really wanted to go for a ride. I told him we can't since the car doesn't have an engine. He thought I was joking until I open the hood for him. Now he's really puzzled ... until I pop the back and we go for a ride.
