BMC with Evo linkage clicking

Is this normal.

I got it installed easy enough, but not sure I like it. Maybe the evo linkage was a bad idea. It seems a bit stiff and it click when shifting upwards out of 3nd and 4th.

Is this just something binding? Is it the Evo linkage that is stiff for now and will it loosen up.

BTW, she's going to the dealer tomorrow so I can have them fix my ****ty work if necessary. I am just curious if I should take the Evo linkage off and go back with the regular linkage for smoother operation.

You can have the dealer check the adjustments...keep in mind that the SSK shift feel is notchy and takes more effort to shift. If it's adjusted correctly, it will take some time getting use to. I just have the evo link...just gives me just enough shift precision and accuracy feel...keep in mine that a GT3's shift throw is reduced 15% when compared to a TT's or carrera's.

TCM is infamous around these parts
It is common to have the Evo shiftlink hit the plastic guard that goes over the shifter area when in 4 or 6th gear. This can be so bad as to keep the lever from going into 4th or 6th sometimes. You need to adjust the Evo shiftlink height (simple threaded bolt) so it can clear the plastic surrounding. Hope this helps.
