Angeles Crest Hghway

Friday I drive from LVegas to LA to have Advanced Autosports put in some Recaro seats. I'd like to find a nice piece of highway to enjoy and am looking at the Angeles Crest Highway (over San Gabrial Mts). Anyone recommend it (or otherwise), and how long to go over if I started at the north side and worked my way into Pasadena (I'd start up the mt. very early on Friday, avoid traffic)? The seats should complete the car: Blk 02 x50, GPS, Stereo, V-1, HRE 543R, PS 2's (still very quiet after 5,000 miles), PSS9-lowered only 1.5 inches, Techart short shift, Evo stage 3.
I'm new to this game, but a quick study.
Thanks for any advice on Crest Hghway.

Well, ... there's Angeles Crest Highway, and then there's Angeles FOREST Highway. It Tees into Angeles Crest at an overlook/turnaround up on top somewhere.

AFH has 500-1000 foot verticle drops with no guardrails. Will get your attention very quickly!

There's a little grocery store +/- lunch counter 15 minutes or so from the T with ACH.

Have fun!

(Caveat: I was there 20 years ago - it may have gotten safer!)

You might want to try the Ortega Hwy, start on the OC side,it'll
dump you out in Elsinore and on to the 15 frwy. watch out for CHP
both places.

I definately recommend ACH over all the other so cal ones, it may be because I grew up on them, but the thing I like about it, is there are jsut roads EVERYWHERE and they are empty on the right day.

It'll probably take you 2-3 hours to get through it all. I don't remember how long it took, i've gone pasadena to the north side numerous times. Just make sure to fill up on gas.

It's definately an awesome drive, but be safe!
