GT2 02 or 03

Does anyone know of any differences between 02 and 03 GT2's?
I'm doing research in prep. to buy one after much deliberation have concluded that these are the best buys but wonder about any differences. Understandably, the 02's could be purchased for less and should be a better buy, right? Any help is greatly appreciated.

nelson - i'm doing similar poking around. the suncoast site has the 03 order guide and preliminary 04 order guide - both of (which you've probably already found). but they don't have the 02 order guide online (or at least i couldn't find it). i'd be curious to compare them - have you seen an 02?

doody.

I've seen an 04 and have driven an 03 but not an 02. I think the best deals can be had on the 02's but want to make sure about the variances in spec before I make a move. I'm still somewhat torn about giving up my modded TT as the experience has been great but I'm thinking that if the right deal comes along....I have found a few available cars for what seems to be the going-rate prices these days ie. mid 130's for 02 and mid to higher 140's for 03 respectively. No one seems to be willing to part with 04's for less than sticker. I'd sure like to find one on resale as that would be the best opportunity for a deal. Good hunting.

No difference btween 02 & 03. I dont think you can get a good 02 for mid 130's at least not in LA. Try 140ish. Much better than a modded turbo unless it is just for street.

Your right, not in L.A, but they are out there as I'm talking to a few owners. Any idea how many were built for each model year?

Thanks for the responses guys. Are the PCCB the primary area of concern with these cars-especially if tracked? What are most recommend mods?

nelson - what i've been told by owners is that if the car has PCCB and has been tracked, there could be an issue. they just don't hold up to the abuse and it's $15K to $20K to replace them (ie: you replace them with steel!). the PCCBs offer no braking imrovements - they just don't fade. if the car has never been tracked and you don't intend to track it, i'm told the PCCBs are a non-issue.

fwiw,
doody.

Justin,

Nice combo of cars you have there. Are all stock or have you modified? Do you track them? Whats your take on the TT vs GT2 since you have both?

My PCCB's seem to be holding up just fine after 10 track days. Plus the replacement price has dropped a lot. If you are at the track all the time get steel rotors, etc. and save the PCCbs for a rainy dAY.

About 200 cars (North America production) for both years --

~120 for MY2002 and ~80 for MY2003
