Exactly.....Patrolman are considered by the state to be "experts" at judging speed.....for example.....when you get a radar ticket by a guy at the side of the road...he is "using" the radar gun only to verify HIS visual estimate of your speed....not the other way around....that said...I would bet a good lawyer can get you out of this one.....

You need a spotter in the front and rear of any group run like this. All of the drivers (or at least most) need to have radios (CB hand held for $40 each). Rotate the spotters and maintain contact with all drivers so if someone is notified or waiting for a visual or radar, and spotter radios the group and you can slow down and avoid the $3000 between the group.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I spoke with a person from the court house today and she said while its not for sure, there's a good chance i'll be able to go to traffic school for both violations. Has anyone ever heard/had this happen to them before?

So it was one officer who witnessed the violations and wrote all the citations?
You guys should all set up court dates all on consecutive days. He'll hate spending his week in court and might just not show to some of them. Just a thought.

Only one officer witnessed it, but i believe three different officers wrote out tickets.

Some advice:

1. Do not discuss this here. Do not rely on advice posted here OTHER THAN FROM THE LAWYER!

2. Do not do this yourself... this will need a sharp, experienced lawyer to find the flaws (if any) as this case develops.

3. Find out if you can take traffic school AFTER the trial. In my area you can. Do not take traffic school unless essential- otherwise you'll be screwed for the next 18 months (until yyou can do school again)

I agree with the comment that there will likely be 'problems with proof'...who saw what, which car was pulled over by whom, etc, etc. This is not for amateurs (like me)

Get a lawyer...
Exactly!!!

After all of my runs through the past years, of extreme driving (upper 100's) with like 30+ cars I count myself extremely lucky, especially since me , Raudel (RCNJ in his GT2) and my friend Joey in his Murci past a trooper while all 3 of us were WOT over a 100..

Never again, I have become one of the most calm/cautious drivers now.

Colby sorry I haven't called you, but tomorrow i'll give you a r ing about this and that!

Ya, i think i go in for a free consultation but if i can do traffic school for both i think i'll go that route (and just drive extremely carefully for 18 months) because at most these tickets plus traffic school should be $700, and that's pretty much hiring a lawyer for 3 hours.

Did you get that EP II Quiet?

You can't beat a CHP or cop in court by yourself. Cops are considered experts that always tell the truth. You are considered a guilty dog until proven innocent which will never happen if you represent yourself. Hire a good attorney. It's well worth the money
