How do I reset the Drive-by-Wire?
How do I reset the Drive-by-Wire?
The FVD guys suggest after a re-flash with their software that you reset the gas pedal, can anyone tell me how this is done? I didn;t get any docs from FVD regarding this and I couldn;t find it on their site or in a Google search either. I thinks it is a combination of key on/off and a number of presses on the gas pedal. Any idea?
Leave the key on the on postion but the motor not running, leave the D/S door open and let set until you hear the TB in the rear rear set. It will slap and reset twice then stop. Usally within 5 minutes will this occur.
Thanks.

I have to admit, I started laughing when I read that sequence....sounded a bit like hokus pockus....but yutta' hey...it probably works. Stephen isn't one for putting out B.S.....but I still got a chuckle. I wonder what engineer thought up that sequence. Only thing it's missing is coordinating it with low tide in Honolulu.
If you look in manufacteres cd-maintenance it says basically the same thing. Turn on ignition without starting car after all the clicks and whirrs finish turn off ignition then turn (start) car. This should be done after you disconnect the battery. And a big blurb on making sure you have more than 19 liters of gas in your tank as it can mess up your tank readings
Send me your email and I'll send you the FVD manual. Here is basically what it says though...
Step 4:
You have now successfully loaded the tuned file. Before test driving the vehicle please re-adapt the throttle on E-Gas cars by performing the following steps:
1- Remove the key from the ignition
2- Reinsert the key and turn the ignition on to position 2 for 60 seconds (do not touch the throttle).
3- Turn the key off for 10 sec (do not touch the throttle)
4- The throttle is now re-adapted and vehicle can be started and operated as normal

Hmmm, could this have anything to do with the code my car keeps throwing:
Porsche fault code 274 - Accelerator pedal movement
Repair Infomation:exceeds limit value
Will try it this weekend...

When I first got my FVD software they never mentioned this step. At our SoCal dyno day I think msidrd mentioned they told him to do this with his new FVD software. Anyway, I recently had FVD update my software and when when I had them on the phone they mentioned that doing this is now one of the steps after the reflash..... hmmm
Can't hurt to try it.
