TechArt or Gemballa?

It is fiberglass and white, once primed and painted, the slightest rock will chip this kind of nose and the white will show through on just about every color paint. It is more brittle than the stock flexible polyeurethane (dark undrneath) nose. Learn from other's experience. Don't misunderstand or get depressed. I have this nose and I love it and track it and drive it hard and I don't have to tape it or bra it

i give a thumbs up to the 3m guard, but be advised that you will still get chips.... on the plastic that will tear off that are noticeable, but overall, less damage from road debris had you not gone with the protection
it's just one of a couple companies that make a clear plastic film and there are usually person(s) in your area that will apply with some type of guarantee. In my area, he is called Starshield and he keeps all the stuff in his truck and will do the work at your house, work, or dealership. He has computer laser cut pieces for many of the stock fronts (GT-2 in this case) and will custom for your particular front. You can also add to the hood, side view mirrors, rear wheel area and rocker panels. If you have a really dark color car, sometimes a line is visible across the hood where this plastic film ends. Wax can build up there as well and accentuate the line. The shield generally stops about 1/4 up the hood. B/C of that, I am not having the hood protected on my Basalt Black Metallic pepper S. Anyway, it's also nice that these areas can be cleaned and detailed quickly without ever using wax and without concerning yourself if you need a chamois. It is really durable stuff and I am very pleased. Good luck
I am really not sure how Gemballa is pulling those flames off (esp. since I see mufflers in that pic). I am running no cats and no mufflers and I don't get flames like that... I get a good glow, but no flame like that...maybe when I get my BOV they will get bigger...maybe its the old honda sparkplugs in the exhaust trick...

James, thanks again for the info on the 3M guard, I've already talked to my shop and they'll do some research on all the options available. I guess my only concern with the 3M film is that, over time would the film discolor (dust, wax residue...) like what the clear bra would do? I'm quite concerned about this protection issue cuz road debris is a big problem as we have some pretty ****ty roads here in LA, my TA front bumper has already sustained quite a few chips & scratches in just few months...and I only drive the TT on the weekends!
Ben, my shop told me about one week of breathing time would be enough for the paint before applying the 3M?

Custom colored and matched and the radiators are protected from road debris. Fits like a glove...first rate quality
Chris, thanks for the suggestion I'll look into it as well. By the way, do you use it for your car? And as according to their instruction on the website, I'll need to take off the bra and reinstall it everytime the car's been rained on or come in contact with moisture? I thought it'd be more of a one-time application until you replace with a new one.

PS-I take it you used to work for Roock??
Evan, the flames come out during engine deceleration whether in between shifts or just by letting off the gas at high rpm in gear. I'm surprised your car doesn't shoot flames, especially with those FVD straight pipes you have on it, maybe the exhaust just isn't getting hot enough to ignite a flame when the unburnt fuel is dumped into the exhaust. If you really want the flames, just richen up the mixture (will probably need an ECU remap, not sure how you'd do it on a 996TT) toward redline...
