Extended Warranty

I can buy a 7 yr, 60,000 mile extended warranty for $ 5300. I don't put many miles on the car, ( 2005, 11K miles). The insurance is thru the dealership, but is a 3rd party, Zurich. The finance manager said that is the best one as Porsche doesn't offer a similar product. ( I don't know if that means this is a better deal for them or for me).

Any ideas about extended warranties.

That does seem very high. I purchased an extended warranty for my car and shopped various dealers and the price of the policy differed as much as 30%. I purchased one for 48k & 4 years for approx $2300 and I am glad I did. The policy the dealer sold me was issued by JM&A Group, part of Fidelity Warranty Services, Inc. It is covering my 2nd gear pop-out problem.

I bought the same warranty through easycare for $1800. that was 2 years ago though.

It's good for 7 years from inception or 60K total miles with a $100 deduct. Cover way more than the factory CPO and they paid my only claim, a MAF caused by the aftermarket air filter with no issues. That took my 02 to 2011.

I have a total shield warranty I got about 2 years ago. I paid about $2500 to cover me until 86,000 or 2010. It has nearly paid for itself. The last repair was a radiator that blew out on me which would have cost $1800.

It can be purchased even after your factory warranty expires. I got mine from Downtown L.A. Audi. If you have questions, call Brian, West Region Director of Total Shield. 562.458.8197.

that seems very expensive. I got an easy care warranty (which i think is the best aftermarket warranty) for about $2700 for 6yr/75K mi with $200 deductible
