awesome rotors. so how much weight is saved with this product?

my gut reaction is $2k is a bit steep considering pricing of the entire brembo upgraded kit. but then again i don't know the weight reduction. so can someone discuss the weight savings?

Does anyone know how much this brake upgrade from EVOMS weighs? My sense is that since it is the bigger GT2 calipers it is going to weigh more than OEM. They come with one piece rotors (not sure why) as I would think they are just as heavy as stock.

I've had the front rotors on my car for more than a year.......they are as I recall 7 pounds lighter per side than the stock pieces. Somewhere I have a photo and will try to post it. They are the floating type and they do make noise, if you are a certified car nut they will not bother you, but everyone who gets in my car asks what that noise is?

I'd take the advice and get the fixed units for a street car. The rotors are a work of art. You'll only need to replace the disks when you wear the rotors out.

so for me to loose 14lbs of unsprung weight in the front of the car may be worth $1,000. So what kind of group buy would we have to get together to get them at $1000 for a pair of fronts?

Agree the price is high, but they did do their homework and made it to oem specs regarding design and dimensions. Regarding the materials, what is type of aluminum and iron is used? How much are replacement discs?

btw, i agree - it is nice to compensate someone for doing their homework. And I admire innovative products that allow someone to shed weight of the car. In this case here is how i see it.

+ Weight is unsprung weight
- Weight is in the front of the car - the rear of the car is what needs the reduction more
+ innovative design and homework done
- they aren't cross drilled (meaning i think they'd look funny on the car when the rear is cross drilled)

So i'm a big fan. But when OEM replacement rotors are priced at <$200/rotor or ~$350 for a set - how much of a premium are you willing to pay?

Keep in mind for $3k you can have upgraded brakes that are lighter!

2x - no brainer
3x - enthusiast who wants the weight reduction
4x - enthusiast who is competing and can justify the weight reduction

Conclusion:
broad market at $700 a set, $1050 limited market, $1400 a very niche market.

Just my 2 cents...

FlyYellow, nice analysys. What are you, a marketing instructor? I think a group buy would be beneficial to everyone. I wonder how many units would need to be sold to get the price down to $700/pair? There would be a lot of takers.

i agree at $700 i think it is a no-brainer and you get large market appeal. Hope the company lets us know # of units necessary for each price point.

I would say at $2k/pair, a Brembo 355mm BBK group buy is a better option.

Are there fitment limitations with some wheels for the Brembo BBK?

I dont think either kit fits under the stock turbo wheels, just due to the size of the caliper. Most customers already have 19" or larger wheels before we do a bigger brake kit.

Just get spacers and you'll have plenty of room.

I'm assuming these rotors are for the 4 piston kit and not the 6 Piston. What is available for those of us that have upgraded to the 6 piston GT2 or Suncoast kit?

And secondly though the original price is 2k for the set, then how much is the replacement rotor only without the hats since you already have them?

Finally, how long will these last compared to the OEM 6 pistons. I doubt you'll be stopping much faster and my issue is which one will last longer under load. If the cost per purchase of rotors is too high, then I'd opt to just get the OEM one and have to replace them more often. @ about $250 for a set of OEM rotors (4 piston) and $500 (6 piston) shipped, I would neet to know what the significant difference in longevity is or I'd rather just keep buying as these are not ceramic and wont last as long as a ceramic.
