Tym is a great guy!! Ive known him for 10 years or so. We go back to the DSM days together, he was talented then. Im glad to see hes making a splash into the Porsche world. If he does half what he did for the DSM community, The Porsche crowd we will all be Ecstatic!!!

If it were some crappy piggy back band-aid, it would have been called a piggy back....

Im pretty sure thats a Buschur Motor in shep's car with a filled block. I would consider Master David Buschur the builder of that fine automobile.

I've heard David called a lot of things, and Master has never been one of them....

And John no longer uses Buschur motors....

Very, very, very good stuff from Switzer.

I look forward to seeing what comes out of his shop over the course of this year.

It's not that difficult to run 9s in DSM or Evos... it only takes some money( about $22K)... A good amount of R&D has been done over the years... and Mitsu did the right thing by not changing the block when they went from DSMs to Evos... and that's where Subaru messed up... Funny though how the new Evos now have a Aluminum block... let's see how they will be making HP now... LOL welcome to the Porsche tuning world of 1.5 bars MAX.
All I can say that had we had a stand alone we would be running a lot faster then we all are...

Hi Mark, I keep hearing this, does Todd think this being true as well? The only reason a standalone would give more power is if Motronic is not well tuned, or if you are pushing the boundaries of your engine IMO.

As far as I know, no one uses the Motronic for speed compensated boost control / anti-lag / 2-step . All important features when it comes to creating a consistent drag time. Combine this with the lack of speed density offered and you start to push the limits of the stock ECU, standalone opens this up right away. Will a standalone be best for a daily driven K16 car, probably not, especially when you factor in the cost, along with hours of tuning to get thing right, however once you cross that 700 mark or start drag racing it will create a world of difference.
