vibrations
Hello everybod, I'm a member from Belgium and have a question.
I have a 2003 996 turbo x 50 and have 30000km on my car, I can only drive my car a little bit in the weekend( to busy with working) and for the rest the car stays in the garage. When I drive the car after a week the first 15 to 30 minutes there is some vibration in the steering wheel. After it goes away . And the car feels not glued to the road it feels very nervous. I have new tires and have done a 4 wheel alingment. What can cause this. I also had a problem with the car at full throttle that there was fluctoation on the boost pressure. I saw 0.8 and sometimes 0.9( rare) and it always went down to 0.7, it changed a lot but couldn't hold the 0.8. Since i have an extended warrenty I went to the cpo and they did a demand for a turbo change in germany and they got a positive answer. So they are changing the two k 24 turbos. The car is in the garage at the moment. They are also going to change the plugs. Should i see some change in power with the new turbos? Is there some "brake in" period for turbo's . Every answer that I receive from you "porsche specialist" will make me happy. thanks

Yep, sounds like tire pressure, wheel balance, alignment... Th boost is a separate issue...with X50 you should be seeing at least .9. Have them check the coil packs while you are at it. Yes there is a break-in recommended for turbos.
