Great vendors...
Great vendors...
There are the small things that make you happy...none of this is big bucks...I wanted a thread to show how the small things matter. I have posted in the past about a few bigger items and vendors.....this thread is to celebrate the small sale, the little guy, the "low" $ adventure if you will.
1. CDOC at VIR at the recent East Coast Trackers convention....
I wanted to know about the CG locks....he said they and the Traqmate were the current best bangs for the buck...then he installed them for me (the CG's), gave me tips about adjusting/tightening them...and how to never forget they are there or risk the dreaded b pillar scraped leather.... He talked 935's with me the night before...he had crashed one at about 180 mph.....the guy was really fun and friendly...a racer currently in sales...but really a racer at heart.
2. CG lock...
Left VIR, everyhing but the little spare bolts got home. I left them someplace at the track, probably on the floor of seschgang's garage bay..... The CDOC guy picked ones on the passenger side that were too long at install by a hair and I wanted to avoid scratching my wife/etc. CG sent free ones with a new hex wrench...in two days. No questions asked.
3. AGLA...the steering wheel.
One stitch got loose. He sent free thread and a needle (I spend two months in a pediatric plastics rotation a few years ago...the stitching on these cars, OEM and AGLA, is really good IMHO). It was slow in coming...he sent another....still nothing, he sent a third ...the first got here today. USPS probably. Fixed it in under 5 minutes. Lots of people saw it at the track and asked about it....I realize some had bad experiences...this one was not bad at all.
4. Rennline track numbers...got to me custom in 2 days total from VT....amazing. They (temp ones) came off no problems...no marks. All their stuff has been super.
5. Ultimatepedals: prior owner had some installed. The gas pedal was too small IMHO. I had a new one made for me via a picture of the old one with a self-designed set of extensions...in under a week to me at my door because "I want you to have them for the track...". Cannot think of a cooler thing than to make your own pedal design...and have it work great.
6. Many others via the people on this forum (sechsgang, Tom K., datax, sean_996, heavychevy, and others).
7. Bumperplugs....one chipped...two new ones were in my hands in 2 days or so...midnight blue. No questions asked.
