Need Help ASAP on my fight with insurance...

Hi guys, I just talked to 21st Century Insurance.
The Supervisor is refusing to have my bumper replaced...
He told me it is their option to have it repaired or replaced. (if repairable, then repair)
I'm really really angry with their decision, and I was talking to him on phone for 30 min. I didn't back off on having my bumper replaced.
There is no way I can stand a repair bumper on my car.
What do you guys suggest now?
Lawsuite?
(If so, can anyone recommend a good lawyer?)

Luteng, I had the same issue. I greased the adjustor and he wrote for a new bumper.

Your policy probably says they have the right to make that call (based on degree of damage, etc).

So......if that's a 'none-issue', then the next question is, what amount they are going to pay for repair. If they cut you a check that jives w/what your 'good' shop says they will need to do a 'very good' job on your expensive car.....then, you've got what you can.

You then decide if you repair or if you add your own bucks (along w/deductable) to what the ins company pays, to buy/finish/install new part.

I'll comment, I've had a couple "altercations" on my Pcars in last couple yrs & been very pleased w/the way Progressive operates. In most cases I had the check in my hand (brought to me) same day as accident and when my shop ran into expenses that were not easily anticipated or visable, Progressive stopped by my shop w/another check.

Good luck to you in getting your baby 'back in the pink'.

OFF TOPIC:
I can relate to your dissatisfaction. On the other hand , I have a 8 month old "stock' GT2 (that I will eventually enter in Porsche Parades ) that has a delaminating rear wing. Porsche has offer to replace it and have a local shop paint it. BUT to me it will not be 'FACTORY' for the Parades. I want a FACTORY PAINTED replacement. Because, If it's not factory-I may possibly lose points in the Porsche Parades . No to mention, TO ME - it's no longer "Factory."
I'm still going back and forth with them. The way I see it, if I was Jerry Seinfield, I'm sure they would accomodate his request for a new factory painted wing.....Good luck with your pursuit of personal satisfaction.

Or your body shop can write a big estimate...e.g. say the fenders and hood need blending, use most expensive paint, etc...

in all honestly, you are better off having your local shop do it. They will be better at matching the paints up perfectly. And also, you won't be losing any points in your porsche parades no one is going to notice! As long as it's an OEM porsche part you are not going to lose any value of the car.

And to tell you the truth, if they do decide to give you what they say is "factory painted" replacement, most likely all they are really going to do is get a wing, send it to the guy that does there local paint fixing and have him paint it and hand it to you and say it's factory painted.

I saw your post on rennlist, you are blowing this whole thing out of proportion man

thanx to everyone for the input...^_^
i've filed in a complaint to the headquater to 21st century. Hopefully that'll get some of the attention, b/c the supervisor was kinda of rude when talking on phone.

Also, the bodyshop has already talked to the adjustor, and the price to fix the bumper is way way way below the new bumper.
5G for a new bumper, and only 1-2 G just to repair and paint it.

And if i have 1G deductible on my car, i might just fix it myself...or try to have the bodyshop quote the insurance with around 2G-3G for repair. So therefore I can at least have my deductible covered...and a few hundred bucks to spend on my new bumper.

but we'll see how it works out...after the letter i sent to the insurance company.
if it does get their attention, then I guess they'll just have to replace the bumper for me.
If not...=_=" I guess i'll have an attorney talk to them.
the worst case will be fixing the freaking bumper myself...and sell my original one to those wanted it.

go directly

to the state insurance board and AG's consumer affairs office, or other applicable regulatory body. someone on another board had some complaints as well. letters to different people at the same company tend to be futile... esp w/ ins companies. good luck.

03 C4S:
Yeah, I'm thinking of changing the front bumper. (Still TechArt Type II)... Or I'll just pay the difference and get the GTS bumper if the insurance is willing to replace the front for me.

Soon2be993tt,

I guess you never asked for anything out of the ordinary.
If you never ask, you'll never know.
Some people simply live in a square 'BOX' and never ask what 'if'.
