Evo magazine just done a test with the bentley gt,aston martin db9,merc sl55 and the standard tt.
Standard tt won ,4 years after its introduction it is still the best all round sports car/gt you can buy.
Roll on the 997 tt

 

Noticed the Bhp/ton of the 997 v/s 996 in the other Porsche comparison was a little daunting the 996's was higher ...lets hope that doesn't happen with the 997 Turbo

In all fairness, none of those are sports cars by any means. It isn't like Vipers and Z06 vettes and Modenas.

 

in what circumstances would a viper ,vette or modena outrun a 996 tt,the tt murders the 360 round a racetrack,round bends,on straights.
I wouldn't even like to go round a corner in a viper ,and the corvettes big bang for your cash but not a lot else,pretty crude.
But the others mostly are gts but i di dsay gt/sports car

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The TT is the best all around supercar.

I have that issue and read it, TT hands down is the best IMO.

 

My point is the TT crushes the 4500+lb cars it went up against. The Viper also crushes a Modena.

That's all...It just wasn't apples to apples. The 996TT is not a GT!
