Squeaky brakes

I have 2001 TT with 18k miles. I bought used about 2 months ago and the brakes have started squeaking under light pressure. The squeak stops with more pressure. The service rep at the dealer says that this is something that P-cars do and that it has to do with glaze on the brakes. The rep said to find empy strip of road and jump on the brakes hard a couple of times and this should clear the glaze. I haven't tried it yet but wonder if any of you have had experience with this.

I heard that to... but by 18K miles... the glaze should be off already...

The glaze builds up from multiple slow speed stops and covers the rotor surface. Once you jump on the brakes hard, it should cut through the glaze. This issue will come back again though if you use your brakes lightly on a regular basis, which most of us do. Nothing to worry about as it has an easy solution.
