The stock clutch is good for roughly 600 HP. Aftter that, you´ll be having a burning sensation

I'm sorry, what I meant was that you do not need to add a beefier transmission all together... I am fully aware that the clutch and flywheel should be upgraded, but I have been told that the stock transmission can take an immense amount of power.

I am only upgrading to the EVO640 and going to the stage 2clutch. It is my understanding that the stage2 will be fine at 640, and that clutch upgrades past that are noisy and clumsy if used for street. Does anyone have experience with this?

Only 640 hp. That is forty more ponies than the GT1 that won Le Mans in 1998! Any single mass flywheel will be noisy. As for clumsy.... , I don't think so. In a way you are really wasting power with that stage II clutch. It is not designed to harness that power with constant extreme usage. A clutch that will do that will cost you 5,500 to $10,000. depending on the material of the discs used. These clutches use three to four discs and special pressure plate, etc.

MOWBLOGO

Saturday, the 24th, there's a track event at Willow. It would be great to see your monster on the track. Any interest in tracking the car?

Lots of interest. I am just now setting my schedule to try and make a few events for the remainder of the year. Don't know about the 24th yet. I thought I saw your car in a local shop the other day.

mowblogo,

I'm holding off putting on a wing to see how yours comes out. your car looks great and you're really doing it up right. I've been dealing with the AJ folks since they were down on Moreno. They really are pros. I have headers coming in but am afraid that pushing any more power beyond that will really shorten the life of the engine.

If you ever have time for lunch, let me know.
