Difference between K24/18G and K24/20G??

What is the main difference and performance between the two setups. Is there any power gain between the 18g wheel and the 20g wheel. Would I have to upgrade fueling to go with 20G or can I just use a standard Softronic custom tune?

depends if ur running the 650 or 700 with the 18gs ... if ur running the 650 then u will need to upgrade fueling... if u were running the 700 kitthen you should allready have the fueling so u wouldnt need to upgrade when going with 20gs. the power gain on pump 93 is about 40 whp . and they pull very hard up top all the way to redline. they really shine on race gas .

Right now someone is willing to build me a K24/20G turbo to test out. I need to know what else I will need. I am planning to work with Vivid and softronic on the programming

When you say fuel what exactly are you talking about?

Fuel pump ??
injectors ??

Sorry I don't have very much knowledge yet about the upgrades available for the 996TT yet. I am still learning.

Bu fuel he means fuel pumps, fuel lines, fuel rails, and fuel injectors. With these in place you can run the 3.8 bar FPR and still be fine. The OEM fuel system is maxed out at 650 hp.

unvmym3,

I was told the K24/20 makes more power than the 18G when run at 1.4 bar with race fuel, but about the same as an 18G when run at 1.2 bar or below on 93 octane (and spool 300 RPM's later with 20G)...Have you tried yours yet? What have you heard about performance at 1.2 bar on 93? I think there are a few of us that would love to hear a test report on the 20G.

I believe member x50plt is getting the 24/20 setup. You might want to PM him and ask why he went that route....

it will make more power then the 18gs will at the same boost level , and will notice it more mid to top . and on race fuel it really rips. ask mark about bobbys car.

i havent put them on yet as i keep on adding things to my build , but ill haev them on by end of next month and i will for sure give you a write up dyno numbers on a heart breaker mustang dyno. so sit tight till i get mine hell if you even want i will let you drive mine to see how you like them.

rwd by fueling , i meant pretty much what adam said.

That sounds great - I will probably take you up on the offer, as I would really like to experience a set. We could run the cars side by side to see the actual difference in real world performance, too.

I don't think you need fuel lines or rails for these turbos.

Since this package will produce a bit more than the "700" kit I would assume a engine build would be recomended as well?

John really. So I can get away with bigger injectors, 5 bar fpr, and fuel pump

I have been told that the torque is not that different than the 18G with these, therefore, you can run them on stock internals, however, I think you are somewhat at risk with anything in the neighborhood of 700HP with stock internals...

The way to really exploit the K24/20 is to put in rods, head gaskets/studs and confidently boost it with race fuel.

You will need injectors and secondary feul pump , john is correct

what setup exactly you will be running with your 20gs?,on my set up its pretty much the basic proto setup, ill be running the upgraded fuel system, Ypipe with diff maf and housing, relocation of the intake by the fenders , larger TB and plenum, intercoolers, greddy blow offs venting to atmosphere, obviously a greddy profec, and twin external tial wastegates venting to atmosphere also and full 3 in ex. no cats ..
