Need Help On Making My Purchase 996 Turbo
I wouldn't recommend getting it with all the mods done to it and the unknown history of it (the guy after your friend). Its better to just spend the extra cash and mod the car yourself since you know how YOU drove it while it was modded. Although these cars are beasts, they need to be driven properly with such high hp. If not, then they will break like any other car. If you need help finding a good deal on one, I'm sure I can help you out. I purchased my 2002 Seal Grey turbo from a Porscshe dealership with 6k miles for 73k with a certified porsche warranty for one year (came pretty much fully loaded, but still stock). Due to the current state of the economy (probably going to be going into a recession, thus the luxury item market will most likely show it the most) I'm sure you can get a better deal than that. PM me and I'll try and help you out.
As others have said, sit on it. Especially if this guy is trying to rush you through the deal. With the economy like it is you shouldn't have much trouble finding a car that you absolutely love at a price that you are pretty happy with as well.
option sticker on inside of bonnet
just pop the hood, take a look at the option sticker, the options are listed in numerical order. if your car has the x50 option, it should be listed on the sticker.
You move fast! Honestly, at the end of the day if you got something you liked and ended up paying a few $Ks more, I don't think it's a bad thing. It would probably cost you that much money in your time to find the next one that would fit the bill.
