Wait, so just to be clear (since you said you were going to copyright protect them), are you an authorized dealer for Porsche manuals? Because they are 1,200 from the dealer and I find it hard to believe someone can get a legitimate license to sell the for a one tenth of the price. If you are not authorized isn't a bit hypocritical to keep others from sharing? Just curious. Also, I didn't see your name on the list of sponsors to the right.

The Porsche 996TT manuals are not available from the dealers or the Porsche Tech site. The price used to be over $2000.00

Right, I understand. My point, if in fact you are copying them isn't it a bit hypocritical to not allow others to do the same? I fully apologize in advance if you have purchased the copyrights, etc. to lawfully distribute copies. Also, my dealer said they could still get the manuals, but then again you know dealers.

OK NO SOUP FOR YOU.

Go to your local dealer, or any dealer in the world and try to buy them. Porsche has offically stopped producing manuals in paper.

Obviously its probably better to try to get the manuals thru PM or ...

You weren't being sarcastic. You were trying to debate me. I can help some of the members here, however I don't care to openly debate the issue. Perhaps my edits may give you some direction.

Go ahead and contact the dealer and have them help you get the 996TT manuals that you have asked for many times.

Hey whatever floats your boat brother. I have copies of the manuals and I'm not here to sell anyone anything. In fact I offered to help anyone out who needed access for free. Either way, I wouldn't openly advertise, if you're not a supporting vendor you will get banned.

Awesome very good to know this. Now I will continue for sure to post the manuals as many times as I possibly can if only to get under the skin of someone just looking to profit from this community rather than participating in it.

Advising that we shouldn't share this information among friends (which I think if such a copywrite case were to ever go to court, this membership-only community would stand up), while you peddle the same info for profit is the very definition of hypocrite.

Way to edit your posts - you should be banned.

Hey guys, if we can't get the actaul info posted I know a source that sells them on dvd but the cost is about 200. I will put up 100 and if others want to pitch in a few bucks to get this ill make free dvd copies for anyone who needs them and host the files.

It doesn't matter if it is for personal use or professional use. It doesn't matter if it is copied and distributed for free or for fee. If you are worried about the DMCA it just matters if one is making copies of copyright material. Napster wasn't selling copies themself, nor were they charging a fee for the copies they were making copies available and they got busted. Just like here.

You guys need the manuals and should be entitled to get the service material you want and need to properly work and service your cars. Its very unfortunate that Porsche has decided to do whatever they can to prevent Porsche owners, shops and mechanics from gettng the information that would enhance owning our cars.

Personally I have a 90 911 Targa. I couldnt get the manuls from the dealer even though Porshe has them in the price list for $1,600 for the set. The only way was to buy a digital copy.

If you want to hunt them down go ahead. If you want assistance let me know. However open posts about coping, distributing and sending copies is a bad idea.

I thought I would post it here first. Here is a link for your guys to get the May 2008 Porsche Retail price list. It is the suggested retail price list and you may find your local dealer is higher. I have found that most dealers around the country are about 20 to 23 precent higher.
