Sure, I paid $61k for an 02 with 997 wheels (and stock wheels) brand new tires, an ECU flash a V intake with 13,600 miles.

IMHO I would NEVER buy a 996TT for a daily driver unless you have a warranty or are capable of doing the repairs yourself.

YES these cars are bullet proof, but there are a number of things outside of the drivetrain that will cost you big bucks. When any car is 6,7,8 years old, it will require maintenance. A Porsche will cost you a premium to own as a daily driver.

My main point is you better know your car or your mechanic because these cars are can be complicated and expensive to maintain. Anybody who says different has got substantially more patience or money than me.

Bought mine last October with 18K miles on it...came with the X50 with facrory aero kit and full carbon interior and a CPO warranty....paid $67K and they ate shipping from WI. I've driven it almost 10K miles since I've had it and it's my DD. Had a few maintenance issues....blew a radiator hose and rear strut (both wear items so I paid for the repairs) and replaced a MaF under CPO warranty. Rear tires are only good for about 10-12K no matter how you drive. Great cars, comfortable and a kick in the pants to drive.

Steve,

What about the 996TT appeals to you more than the other 999,999 cars out there to pick from for your daily? It surely cant be the AWD (90210 weather doesnt require this) and the speed (you have fast car(s)).....?????

Personlly, when i think daily, i think comfy, easy, comfy...you get the idea.

Dont get it twisted - i LOVE 996TT's and would drive one everyday in a heartbeat - im just trying to figure out why youd consider this...

I thought my 996tt was a great daily driver when it was stock. not so much any more. it now serves a completely different purpose. I still love it...fast, loud and feels like a race car. I now drive something more comfortable with all the gadgets on a daily basis. I think its a great contrast and makes my TT even more fun on the weekends.

Steve: Pearl makes a good point....is this going to be your commute car? Are you spending a lot of time in stop and go traffic? Do you take folks out to lunch from work? Do you have kids that you drive to soccer practice etc etc etc. The TT is comfortable, but it's a little tight to get in and out of if you're going to be really active....if you're going to be in heavy traffic, consider a tiptronic....if you're going to be carting folks around, consider a four door Bimmer or some other high end option with the amenities....if it's just a fun car for you that you intend to drive daily to work and have fun in, then maybe so....but you'll hemorrhage every time you park it somewhere and come back to it wondering if the A$$hole next to you dinged your door. I had to have one transfusion already when I found a door ding...plus a shot of Valium to keep me from strangling the gal who dinged the door. You really didn't give too much background info on your lifestyle or how you intend to use it other than a daily driver.

I don't mind having high milage on my TT... maintenance is not my concern. I don't DD mine for an odd reason (hope I'm not the only one). When I pull mine out of the garage, it has to be spotless; it is hard to keep a DD car spotless at all time. In addition, parking the car at work just collecting UV and dust anyway.

What's on the shortlist for your next car?

It had a year left on CPO. Wanted to sell it before it came outta warranty. I would NOT buy a Turbo without a warranty. My warranty saved me upwards of $10,000
