Tom, please. I raced on tracks for 10 years and now just like to get in my car on the street and have some fun, devoid of all of the track prep stuff and waiting weeks for an event.

I know you are a trauma surgeon, and see a lot of things that would make our stomach turn, but they are not solely caused by street racing. Accidents do occur on tracks and formal events because guys think that they are much safer driving at the limits of there cars.

Most of the people I run with are well educated (doctors, lawyers and business owners), and well versed drivers that do not take a chance to get a .05 second faster time like on a track race or event. We are all out there having fun for an hour or so and then off to our families and friends for the rest of the day.

There is a big difference between an 18 year old drinking at midnight and driving his/her car recklessly and what I do.

I can drive! Just take a look at some of the videos I have posted. Most of my racing years (bikes, motorcycles and cars) were from 14 years old to 24 years old. I am now 45.
