What will happen to resale prices as electric cars become more prevalent?

When I bought my 996tt last fall I imagined keeping it for 5-10 years, but now that more cars like the Volt and Tesla are coming out, what will become of the internal combustion engine? Will there still be a strong market for gas powered cars 10 years from now? I'm just concerned because as battery technology improves, it won't be too long before electric cars can go just as far on a charge, accelerate 0-60 faster, require less maintenance and do it all on $2 worth of electricity. Not to mention that people want to be "green" and 10 years from now current p-cars may be frowned upon for being bad for the environment.

I have no doubt that within some number of years, gas powered cars will be totally antiquated, but how many years will it be?

Does anyone else have that concern?

I wonder the same thing...but I dont see electric cars being the main source for many years to come.. I will be looking into electric sports cars when they do come out... but I dont see gas cars being phased out all that soon.. they will still have to build charging stations all around the country etc.. thats not going to happen over night

nothing will happen.......for one, the range of electric cars isn't there. Two, charging stations aren't readily available and won't be

Although, the tesla can plug into most outlets........just takes forever to charge.
