No, the only model that had full leather as standard was the 2005 S variant. I'm not sure, but I think an easy way to tell whether you have full leather is to look at your front defroster vents. Are they stitched?

The defroster vents leather is extra leather options on top of standard full leather options from TT. Full leather come with dash and door panels.

My dash, door panels, defroster vents (not central and side vents), storage compartment lid, handbrake, shift ****, pillars, rear panels, and even my mirror buttons are leather. It's an S so it includes full leather. I have no other leather options on my sticker whatsoever.

If the S distringuished itself with full leather, then it doesn't make sense that all prior models had full leather as well. Look here.

Once you've seen the S, you'll quickly realize how much more of the interior is leather than the standard model. It's one of the biggest things that sold me on the S. Looks SO good.

To be clear, I'm not trying to be braggy. I just don't want us to misguide the OP.

ALL 996 turbos came with Full Leather standard...period.

This includes dash, door panels, rear side panels, seats

Other, additional leather items (available as option on any year) include, rear and front center console, "banana" around windshield, vents, etc.

Easy way to tell a non-leather car; look for lack of stitching around instrument pod, lack of a "seam" on the door above door handle.

ELMEL, I believe your S come with some extra leather options, even the speaker cover are leather and I'm sure thats not standard. It feel and look much better with extra leather options, my TT has almost even leather options in it and thats really sold me on it.

You should take a look at an S and compare it to one that's not. It's not like I haven't seen a hundred non-S models. There's a difference, plain and simple.

If all Turbos have "full leather," fine. But then the S models have more. And I'm still curious why Porsche marketing made such a big deal about touting "full leather" in the S as a standard distinction from the "regular" Turbo if there's no difference.

Like I said, go look at an S (as well as Porsche's marketing materials) and you'll see. In the meantime, how can you possibly argue?

Ray is right. The S speaker covers are leather too. Just about everything is leather in the S -- from the windshield to the rear window.

I have seen plenty of "S's"...I have been around a while. There are some optional leather pieces available from the factory (like side vents and speaker grills), but these are not specific to the S. To be honest most S versions I have seen are full carbon

I must admit, never seen a leather window.... Anyway for the OP all 996 turbos have full leather....
