Service and warranty history question

Service and warranty history question
It looks like I am getting close to a deal on a TT. If I have the VIN# is is possible in some way to pull the service history and warranty history? Is this something that I can ask the dealer to do and fax to me?

You can ask - I did - but I was told only the dealership that did the work will have it - and they will only disclose it with the current owner's authorization. If I had to do this again, I wouldn't buy a used turbo without the seller granting that permission so I could see the complete service history - if he refuses - something's fishy.
