I am having my clutch replaced, so I figure, I can kill two birds with one stone, top end speed is not very important to me, I want a beast off the line and better pull in all the gears, what gear ratio is the best for this?

 

if you gear the rear end any lower (meaning higher number) first gear will be even more useless than it already is. I think on these cars you'd benefit much more from swapping the transmission gearing as it seems to be all messed up.

I know Chad has done this, maybe wait for his response or try to sift through the CJV Scargo post to find the info.

It was very common and beneficial mod on the old 4 speed 930s. Some of us did it and then bought RUF 5 speeds. Can't imagine it would be very worthwhile on a 6 speed, and you would find 1st even more useless than stock, and 2d probably not much better, imho.
