The dealer got the following data from the ECU.

The stored Error Code is P 0103: "Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit High Input"

Does a Short Term Fuel Trim of -7% mean that the car is running lean? Could that cause the problem?

Is it possible that a larger Fuel Regulator is needed?

That is the typical error for the MAF. They simply need to replace it.

Don't be too concerned. The MAF can not read right and the system goes beyond its control limits. The system reads too lean based on what the MAF thinks it should be seeing. Once it stops reading correctly then the fuel is not adjusted properly and the mixture goes off. There are other things it could be, but 9 times out of 10 its this.
