Addition to 997 shifter install with Bose System
Addition to 997 shifter install with Bose System
I followed the Imagine Auto instructions to the letter but two things need to be added for my cab.
1. On the "Pull hard on shift **** itself, to slide it off the shifter handle," I must have looked like a Gorilla yanking up on that thing Cussing like a longshoreman, until I realized there must be something holding it tight. Using a mirror between the shifter and the front console I saw an Allen screw. It turns out to be 3mm and seriously locktited in. Damn near broke the 3mm allen. As I have done before though I just tighten it slightly more to break the locktite then loosened it.
2. If your TT has the Bose system there is an extra step to remove what appears to be the subwoofer enclosure in the left side of passenger footwell. See picture. It also has 2 T30 screws.
Anyway love the 997 shifter, much crisper, shorter, and more precise shifts.
