From what I've seen, they are pretty similar in overall power. The K16 hybrids will spool faster but the K24 will hold on a bit more between 6,000 and 6,700. Peak power is similar. It all comes down to where you want your power.
If I already had K24s, I'd either go K24/18 or stick with them. It's probably not worth the trouble to bump down to K16/16g for similar ends.
The only reason I'd do it is if your main goal was to eliminate lag. When we dyno'd my car, the K16/16gs spooled faster than even the stock K16s.
