Quick question - Engine fan

On a factory stock 2002 996TT should the deck lid engine exhaust fan draw air in or suck air out. I just replaced a aftermarket GT2 deck with the stock one and want to make sure it is correct. I know the harness only plugs in one way but could someone go out to their car after a drive and verify. Thanks for the help.

In my car it blows air into the engine (down to the ground).

Thanks JB, when I hooked everything back up on the stock unit it did exactly as you reported. Air into the engine. On the modded GT2 deck it was the other way around. Thanks for taking the time to help.
