When does this fan come on? does it have to do with engine temp? I recall hearing it come on often in the past.. have not noticed hearing it come on in the last few drives...

 

mine come on every time I drive it and they run for a while. Is this because it's an S model or something to be concerned about? I've been driving the car a little aggressive but nothing crazy.

 

I dont know.... I have to drive my car and see if the fan comes on.. I dont recall hearing my fan on the last few drives.. so I wonder if its broken..?

 

The fan comes on to cool the engine bay. There are also some powerful fans that blow through the front radiators and exhaust directly in the front wheel wells.

 

I am speaking of the one on the rear decklid...

 

Mine comes on after I shut down on hot days or after a spirted drive. It stays on for about 5-10 minutes.

 

Bocca,mine comes on occasionally on a hot day or after hard driving around a track.You can't hear it unless you are standing at the back of the car or the engine is turned off.Ian

 

Boca, I live in So FL too (prob. not far from you).

The last few weeks I drive home from work, let the turbos cool outside the garage, park it inside after a couple of minutes. Fan comes on a few minutes later most days.
