I-Pod Integration with 02

Thought I would share as this info and product has been very hard to find. My car is an 02 with bose, but i'm confident this will fit any 02 and pre CDR head unit with or without bose.

I picked up a Dension "icelink-plus" module from a fella on ebay. It fits 996 and Boxters up to 02. 03+ cars are the fiber optic unit and uses a different setup.

I have to say this thing is so easy to install! I popped out the stock head unit, ran the dension wire through the dash and plugged it into the back of my CDR-220. Done! No power wire to run, no fuses, nothing!

The kit came with a custom bracket that can used to fit the unit right next to the radio and was equally easy to install, but I chose to put the Ipod in the glove.

You can't see the song description on the CDR screen, but you can switch between 6 playlists, advance to the next song, fast forward, etc... everything through the factory head unit. Very slick!

It was one plug that fit neatly into the back of the head-unit and emulates a 6 disc changer. I did it in 30 minutes and can do the next one in 5.

The bad news? I don't see it as being available on the dension website. May be discontinued? The person I bought it from said they picked it up while on vacation in Germany.

Yep. You got lucky and found a used integration kit that has been discontinued. Wish I could find one
