dyno numbers for turbo s
I know but they are both done on mustang dyno and it just seems like a big difference. losing 19 hp when I should be gaining at least 50 that's more than just the difference in the dyno.
That's my old Stage 4 FVD chip that I sold to Elliot with the turbos. It is designed for K24/26 turbos, but it was recommended by the Speed Gallery as producing very good results with K16/24 hybrids based on prior installations they had done like this. Worked great for me - the car ran like a top.
It is a K24+ based chip, so it should be a very close match for an X50. I used it with upgraded wastegates and saw 1.2 - 1.3 bar all day long and the car ran great.

Fastlane, tighten up the stock waste gate springs and see if that is the issue before you purchase another set. My stock Turbo S waste gates hold 1.0 bar from 2nd gear on. I can post you a picture if you need. You need a 10mm wrench and it should take you 30 minutes to adjust. The engine should be cold.

Kevin, No not an X50. I had the k16/24 hybrids.
Greg, remove the retaining clip holding the two nut in place on the threaded wastegate rod. Mark the nut with a dab of paint for reference. Move the nuts one full turn forward (toward the front of the car), tighten them against each other and replace the clip. Try it and see if you have more boost. I am not sure how many turns are required, but I would not go more than 2-3. Here is a close-up of the nuts and retaining clip:

will post a little later, waiting for the weather and humidity to cool down. Then I'm running it and let's see what type of bar I get. I hit 1.1 for the 1st time this afternoon after tightening the waste gate rods but it was crazy hot and humid I think I might get more, in about 15 mins I'm heading out.
